Hong Kong is known by many people as a modern city with tall buildings and gorgeous night views. It is amazing that we can also chill at many beautiful beaches or go for a hike with a 30 minutes ride. In this blog post we would like to share with you some of the beautiful places in Hong Kong. Whether you are living in Hong Kong for good, for the time being or visiting for a few days, you would probably have heard of how beautiful these places are. While travelling might not be convenience these days, let’s explore the beauty of these places in Hong Kong through Art!

 

Victoria Harbour

The Victoria Harbour view is one of the most iconic view of Hong Kong. Whether it is day time or night time, this gorgeous view attracts many locals and tourists to see the beauty of it. You can also enjoy a lighting show along the harbour at 8pm everyday together with the show’s music performed by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, played at the harbourfront of Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The Big Buddha

The Big Buddha, a well known attraction in Hong Kong. Many people enjoy taking the cable car ride and sightseeing in the Ngong Ping village. If you feel like taking up a steps challenge, walk up the 268 stairs and you will be rewarded with an amazing view of Lantau Island.⁠

 

Sai Kung

Sai Kung named by many people as the Hong Kong’s backyard is a paradise surrounded by beautiful mountains and gorgeous beaches. It is a place where you can take a break from the busy city life and get close to the nature. There are many well known beaches and hiking trials in this area. It is also famous of the variety of seafood restaurants along the seaside. Dog parents love to take their buddies for a walk along the waterfront promenade. You can also enjoy a various kind of water sports such as kayaking, snorkelling, standup paddling, wake boarding and wake surfing. It is also one of the meeting location for many junk trip lovers.

Kennedy Town

Kennedy Town also known as K-Town is located on Hong Kong Island. A historic neighbourhood with a mixture of new restaurants and buildings. The Kennedy Town Swimming Pool is one of the newest building in the area; a trendy architecture offering both indoor and outdoor swimming pools whereas Lo Pan Template is one of the oldest architecture in Kennedy Town and has been in the area since 1884. It is the only template dedicated for Lo pan in Hong Kong. Lo Pan is believed to be born in 507 BC and is known as a talented carpenter in ancient China. Today, many people in the architectural and craftsmanship world still appreciate the talent of this artisan ancestor. There are many other interesting areas to explore in the neighbourhood and if you are active on social media, for sure you have heard of the Kennedy Town Shipping Dock, named by many people as the Instagram pier. The blue sky view and colourful cargos make this pier a popular instagram hotspot.

Kowloon City

Kowloon City District is one of the 18 districts in Hong Kong and has a history dating back to the Song Dynasty (960 to 1279). You can find many historical architectures in this area with the Hau Wong Template and the Stones Houses being two of the famous attractions in the area. Hau Wong Template has a history going back to the 18th century where as stone houses was built about over 80 years. Kowloon city is also a place full of restaurants serving different kinds of cuisine including local and South East Asia dishes. If you are a fan of sweet food, you can also have a few restaurants serving a various kind of traditional Hong Kong desserts.
